Specialist services
Exodus was established in 2021 to prepare New Zealand businesses for sale and succession. A business that is ready for sale is also one that is properly controlled, well systemised and able to withstand a shock. These services build that resilience, and they sit alongside our core exit work.
Business and property sales
Exodus holds a full licence under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008. We act on the sale of businesses and of commercial, industrial, rural and residential property, supported by two further licensed salespeople for specific projects.
Financial compliance and resilience
A business that cannot demonstrate its compliance is a business a buyer has to discount. We put in place the financial controls that regulators, banks and acquirers expect: client due diligence, payment and account verification, and transaction monitoring under the AML/CFT Act 2009, with a clear audit trail behind every check.
Where identity verification and enhanced due diligence are required, we use Halo AML, our own compliance platform, so obligations are met consistently and recorded automatically. The result is lower exposure to fraud and money laundering, fewer questions in due diligence, and a business that can show it is properly run.
Centralised management and technology
We help businesses move from scattered tools to a deliberate, centralised management platform. That means selecting and implementing a strategic technology stack covering financial reporting, customer management, operations and job management, document control and compliance, integrated so that information is entered once and reported everywhere.
Owners and managers see the whole business from one place. Controls are built into the system rather than held in someone's memory. A buyer or successor inherits working infrastructure that can be audited, supported and scaled.
Disaster and hardship recovery
After a natural disaster or a sudden financial setback, owners must decide whether to rebuild, restructure or exit, often with incomplete information and little time. We bring in the right specialists to assess the position quickly, stabilise the business and set out the realistic options.
Systems and workflow
Many established businesses run on a patchwork of spreadsheets, legacy software and individual habits. That works while the same people sit in the same seats, and fails when they do not.
We map how work actually moves through the business, remove duplication and manual handoffs, and redesign core workflows so they run the same way whoever is doing the job. Each process is documented, given an owner and measured. The business becomes easier to manage now, and far easier to hand over later.
